Description

Why astrophotographers don't use Hb filters? The image shows Rosette Nebula in three images: the top left with a Hb & SII filter, the top right with a Ha & OIII filter, and the bottom with a combination of both images, where it is possible to see the beautiful blue color that comes from the Hb emission.
So, why don't use Hb filter? The truth is that Hb is a clone of Ha, once both come from the same atom (hydrogen), but in blue color and with 30% of Ha strength. There is no new information. In fact, it is even bad to use Hb because noises are introduced in the image since the atmosphere and the standard telescopes don't work well in blue color.
But the Hb is there, and its beautiful blue color should not be forgotten.
