Description

This was shot at ISO 800, which resulted in more blown out stars that needed a fair amount of work in PI (HSV Repair, ColorClip) to salvage and even then, they are not great when you zoom in. Probably should have shot at ISO 200 or 400.  So much to think about as a relative newbie when considering ideal ISO, dynamic range, ideal exposure time for a given sensor, etc.   I really need to upgrade to a dedicated astro camera, but am struggling to select the "ideal" OSC for the Esprit 100.  Not sure I want to go the route of mono with filter wheel yet though I can see it coming. Shooting landscapes is so much easier!

Title: M104, Revised with SPCC and other tools

Description: This is a marginal improvement, limited by the amount of data but better able to use the data that I took using SPCC, BXT, NXT and processing stars and Galaxy separately. Not sure why I had difficulty with restoring colors to these drizzled stars. They were removed in linear stage with SXT then stretched gently with HT. Still better than the original bloated stars, however. I also cropped in more than the original version.
