Description

This image captures a supernova remnant (G82.2+5.3, also known as W63) superimposed over a field of HI emissions, located in the constellation of Cygnus at a declination of +46 degrees. The SNR is 5,000 light years away, with a width of about 100 light years.

The Ha emission nebulae are numerous, including LBN 313, 325, 326, and many DWB objects. These are likely behind the SNR and unrelated to it. I could not find any distance estimates for these Ha nebulae. The dark nebula designated as Barnard 345 is at the top center of the image but is very faint.

An excellent Astrobin IOTD of this region, with 160 dark sky hours of integration and an excellent description, is posted here in a collaboration by @Min Xie and others.
