Description

For this year's Rosette I thought I would try SHO and HOO on the 294MM compared with last year's 1600. I thought I'd also try RGB stars for the first time in an NB image, and the new NSG technique in PixInsight. In preparation, I did a quick process of a 3hr first night run and posted them to CN:

After capturing ~10hrs over 3 nights, I was disappointed with the results to date, especially in comparison to my first drafts above. So I quickly revisited those drafts, tweaked slightly (reduced stars, adjusted the brightness a bit further), and voila! Here are the results from that one night.

Strange business, this astro business!

60s exposures at unity gain. 59x Ha
60x O3
