Description

I've been wondering how much signal I could get from the Moon with my narrowband filters.  Tonight while setting up the moon was showing itself nicely above my neighbor's house so I gave it a go.  I captured a 120s video in each of S2 (4nm), Ha (3.5nm), and O3 (4nm) filters, processed the 100 best (of about 1200) in each video in AstroSurface, and combined as SHO in PixInsight (no blending).  It wasn't quite what I'd want so a few curves later and a minor UnsharpMask and there we go... narrowband moon.

I was very surprised how much signal I got for Ha.  With no changes in settings, just a change of the filter, I got about 20% less Ha than O3.  This was a LOT more than I expected.  I guess Ha signal in nebula are just that much stronger than O3 and can swamp this better than O3?  S2 was also pretty strong, but I'm not capturing that while the moon is out yet.  Maybe some day I can get a comparison but that'll require some luck and dedication and right now I just want some data
