Description

Our take on the Pleiades this year.

A difficult target for us to process to get the right balance between bringing out the dust and not saturating the stars. The first strategy was to take 10 second exposures in low-conversion gain (LCG) with extended full-well enabled. This really helped not to saturate the stars and still show the blue nebula. However, the dust was still mostly hidden. We then took 60 second exposures where the dust could be captured despite the stars being blown out. We combined with the 10 second exposure stack to create an HDR image to attempt to get the best of both worlds. And this is it!
