Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a blue reflection nebula located 3000 light years away in the constellation of Monoceros at a declination of -10 degrees.  The source of the nebula appears to be the small star cluster [FSR2007] 1137, which is anchored by the 8.8 magnitude star HD 46060.

The nebula spans 9 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a width of 8 light years.

Although it is no Pleiades, it is an interesting reflection nebula and I am surprised that this vdB catalogue object has not been imaged on Astrobin before.
