Messier 13 or M13, also designated NGC 6205 and sometimes called the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules or the Hercules Globular Cluster, is a globular cluster of several hundred thousand stars (about 300000) in the constellation of Hercules. It is one of the brightest and best known globular clusters in the northern sky, has an apparent magnitude of 5.8 and lies at a distance of 22200 light years from Earth.
