This is a bright, face on spiral galaxy of the "grand-design" type with two main spiral arms emerging from the bright core and quickly branching to a multiple, broad armed spiral pattern with several condensations (HII regions) visible.
Angular size: 5.0'x4.8'
Radial Velocity: 1218 km/s
Distance: 54 million light years.
Diameter: 79000 light years.
