Description

This object is a rarely imaged low surface brightness irregular barred galaxy located 20 million light years away in the constellation of Pegasus at a declination of +30 degrees. The galaxy spans 2 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of only 12,000 light years.

I could not find any information on this interesting looking galaxy. It is categorized as an irregular barred galaxy of the Magellanic type (IBm). It is odd to me that a galaxy like this could have a bar but no arms or central core. It doesn't look like much of a bar to me - I guess it consists of the line of bright blue star clusters across the central region. A foreground nearby star appears in front of the center of the galaxy.
