Description

Got some more data on M5 testing the impact of offset with my camera. Apparently I never posted a previous integration, but I've included that earlier data as well. Maybe I wasn't happy with it, I can't remember. But I'm pretty happy with the current result. I've wanted to get this guy on the new camera for a while and have been learning some better techniques to extract background / vignetting gradients as well as sharpening without overdoing things with blending.

Description: Playing around with denoise. A globular cluster is a very different beast from a nebula. I ended up using MLT to remove R with layers=4 after stretch and no further denoise. I wasn't liking the smoothing with TGVD and there generally was a lot of cruft in the background. There's not any faint background stuff I wanted to keep and this maintains crispness in the faint stars.

Description: Much cleaner core for the cluster in this pass through the data. I fiddled only a little bit with color, added some slight blue tones to contrast with existing white and hints of red.

Description: WBPP on each color channel separately and more careful processing to pull up stars without destroying color. Masked off blue stars at the end and gave them some special treatment to pull them up a bit more, just to have the color contrast between red-ish and blue-ish.
