Description

As I was finishing up imaging the Antares Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex in the early morning hours of March 22, I noticed this planetary conjunction on the eastern horizon that happened to fit nicely in my 135mm field of view. Although Jupiter's moons were swallowed up in Jupiter's overexposure, I was happy to discover that I had caught two of Saturn's Moons - Titan (mag 9.4) and Iapetus (mag 12.0). Pluto was near Mars, but doesn't show here (mag 14.4). Globular cluster Messier 75 is also distinguishable (mag 8.5).

Acquisition details: Fujifilm X-T10, Samyang 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC @ f2.0, ISO 1600; two 30-second exposures - one with stars tracked with the iOptron SkyTracker Pro and one untracked for the foreground trees - combined in GIMP. Thin clouds/haze acted as a diffusion filter.
