Description

I have been working on this image with my C11 for 2 weeks, I keep adding data hoping it gets better.  Part of the problem is that I was trying to reduce the noise in the back ground.  I either went to far and lost data or had an ugly background.  I finally decided to review some other images of this target and these images showed a lot of interstellar dust.  So I tried to re-process the image and see if I could pull out the dust.  While I did, I did not capture the pretty wispy light dust I saw in other images.  However, I did noticed those images had 60 to 90 hours of data.  Since I do not think I will capture that much I will just go with what I have.

According to Sky Safari, M74 has the lowest surface brightness of any of the Messier objects.  M74 is similar in structure to M33, but over 15 times farther away at a distance of 35 million light years.

I believe the side on galaxy above and to the right of M74 is PGC 138413 that is estimated to be 2 billion light years away.
