Description

Beginning of a mosaic - this is 6 individually stacked frames combined into a mosaic using PI.

Ultimately, hope to continue this up toward M16 and build a large panel.

Captured using Fuji XT3 (unmodified, unfiltered) at ISO 800, all subs 60 secs unguided on the Tak PM1. Scope was Tak FS60 w/ reducer at F4.3, ~260mm FL.

This was not the most efficient use of framing - could have had less overlap, was eye-balling the framing by watching stars move on the rear LCD of the FUJI. However, this let me crop each frame to reduce aberration and vignetting in the edges, which may have helped make the mosaic more seamless.

Using Warren Keller and RBA books on PI to improve my processing. This image is fairly starved for data, (a few of the frames were only 3 subs at 60 secs each) but was a useful test of processing techniques. More to come hopefully as I continue to add to the image.
