Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a small spiral galaxy located 120 million light years away in the constellation of Piscis Austrinus at a declination of -35 degrees.  It is a magnitude 12.3 galaxy which spans 1.7 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a diameter of 60,000 light years.

This interesting galaxy has the classic look of a Magellanic galaxy – an off center white bar, one dominant arm, and multiple bright blue star formation regions.
