Description

These two galaxies are called Messier 65 & Messier 66. They are part of the Leo Triplet. They can be found in the constellation Leo and can be seen from the northern hemisphere during Spring, also called the galaxy season.Messier 65 is about 35 million light years away from the solar system. It is classified as an intermediate spiral galaxy, which means it is somewhat in between a barred spiral galaxy and a spiral galaxy without a bar. There is little to no star forming activity in M65.Messier 66 is about 31 million light years away from the solar system. It is also classified as an intermediate spiral galaxy.
