Description

This is not a great video of today's total eclipse. But considering the clouds moving in and out and my rank inexperience with solar and planetary photography, I'm well pleased with it. While this was shooting, we were also looking through the C11 visually as things progressed. If I'd had my laptop outside, I could have adjusted the gain as we moved toward totality and perhaps gotten nice images of the corona, the diamond ring, and Bailey's beads. But then I would have been messing with a computer instead of just being in the moment with good friends--and what an astonishing moment! I did my best with this and have no regrets. I hope you enjoy the video.

Incidentally, the music for this is a personal composition I count among my favorites from my catalog. I wrote it after a friend challenged me by saying no good piece of music has only three chords in it. I told him I could write an entire symphony around three chords if I wanted to and that although I didn't want to, I would do a 4-minute piece that could easily be expanded into a symphony (which I later did, but that's for another time) just for him.
