Description

IC405 and IC410, known respectively as the flaming star nebula and tadpoles due to their shape, are two diffuse nebulae located in the constellation Auriga.
IC405, located on the left of the photo, is 1630 light years away from Earth and is characterized by the presence of a star known as AE Aurigae. It is a fugitive star whose origin is thought to be the M42 region in Orion.IC410 is characterized by the association with an open star cluster, known as NGC 1893 and by the strong component of ionized oxygen present mainly in the nucleus, which contrasts clearly distinguishable gaseous filaments that recall the shape of two tadpoles.
