Description

I do enjoy looking at small objects, and this is one of the case where I look for them. This region is a wide field full of stars, but containing some interesting objects, such as the Gum 26 and two dark nebulas, Dobashi 5638 and 5639. There are two open clusters there, the CL VDBH 67 and NGC 2866. There is a paper on the VDBH 67 OC,  https://academic.oup.com/mnras/article/402/3/1863/989428?login=false, in the image you can identify it by the yellow tint of its stars, in the centre of the top left quadrant of the image.
There is a gorgeous image of GUM 26, taken by the VLT at ESO in La Silla, see here: https://www.sci.news/astronomy/vlt-emission-nebula-gum-26-08033.html
Also the molecular cloud BHR 53, it is the nice dark, nearly square in shape, to the centre left of the image. The object that is really faint is the reflection nebula BRAN 258, on the border of the Dobashi 5639 (the small dark zone near the bottom right corner of the image), it appear as a whitish small spot, but it should be blueish.

Now I enter in a period of no activity because we are under a cloud of smoke due to wild fires.
