Description

Smack dab in the middle of the summer triangle is the little known constellation of Vulpecula, the little fox. Right in the middle of Vulpecula lies this beauty. The star cluster in the center is NGC6823, the reflection nebula to the upper left is NGC6820, and the larger H2 region is SH 2-86. Often, the entire region is referred to as NGC6820. The star cluster is approximately 6000 light years from Earth at a declination of 23° 5’.
