Description

The Head of the Seagull nebula is also known as VdB 93, a reflection nebula that is part of the larger IC 2177 complex. It is located in the constellation Monoceros, near the border with Canis Major. The nebula is illuminated by the bright star HD 53367, a young and massive triple star system. The nebula’s shape resembles the head of a seagull in flight, hence the name.
