Description

"With an apparent magnitude of 8.4 and located 6,500 light-years from Earth in the constellation Taurus, the Crab Nebula can be spotted with a small telescope and is best observed in January. The nebula was discovered by English astronomer John Bevis in 1731, and later observed by Charles Messier who mistook it for Halley’s Comet. Messier’s observation of the nebula inspired him to create a catalog of celestial objects that might be mistaken for comets." https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2017/messier-1-the-crab-nebula

In the end of March and April 2020 I begin to process this fascinating planetary nebula with data acquired between October to December 2019. On  Dec 24th after infinite tries for the first time we managed to do a guided session and part of that is reflected a bit in the frames of that period.

The problem was the poor process skill and also that we continued to fail in the calibration part, in fact the stacked files did lack this (as I could note after checking the folder of this  period for the path recount).

I remember that although we finally managed to do the guiding part, on the other hand my understanding in the process of the digital data still was very behind and far.  All was new for me and is reflected in the image.

Is good to see that part of the journey as a necessary path for learning and practice and a motivation for trying each time better.  With this target we broke the five minute stack!! haha

As we are so fascinated by this Planetary Nebula we know that soon or later we will get back on it, specially on the Crab Nebula!!!.
