Description

Presented for your enjoyment is my rendition of the IC 1396 emission nebula in the constellation of Cepheus.  Thanks to the Starnet2 process in PixinSight, I was able to eliminate the densely populated star field which I felt distracted from the detail in the nebula itself. At the cost of losing some smoothness, I feel the detail in the Elephant trunk nebula emerges nicely along with the other gaseous regions within the image.  At some point, I want to image some narrowband to integrate into the image.  Also, I might try a lower gain setting to reduce the graininess in the image.  Anyway,  my skill level is always a work in progress.  Seems to stagnate at times but I'll keep with it.
