Description

NGC 2903 is an isolated barred spiral galaxy located about 30 million light-years away in the equatorial constellation of Leo.  This galaxy is a member of the Virgo Supercluster, and can be found about 1.5° due south of the mag 4.3 star Alterf (Lambda Leonis). 

NGC 2905 designates a luminous knot in the northeastern spiral arm of the galaxy (bottom left on picture).
