Description

The Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237, Caldwell 49) has been in my bucket list for a while. After last year's failed attempt this time had more suitable focal lenght scope, plus managed to get way more subs over two nights. It was also the first light of a new Altair 0.8x focal reducer which gave much better flat field than the old WO 0.8x reducer used previously.

Seeing did not cooperate much either of the nights, so had to discard a lot of subs due to some thin clouds or haze. Thus the image is far from perfect but I'm happy that something came out of it after all.

Modified Canon 1100d @ ISO 1600, ToupTek Toupcam G-1200KPB mono guidecamera. Lights: 46x180" + 14x120". Calibration: 40 flats, 20x180" + 20x120" darks, 20 dark flats, 20 bias.

Thanks for watching and clear skies!
