Description

The Rosetta nebula or NGC2237 is a large cloud of diffuse hydrogen gas and dust located in the constellation of Monoceros. It contains in the center the open  cluster NGC 2244, where hot young stars excite the gas of the nebula. The Rosette is located about 5,000 light years away and is about 100 light years across.

I photographed this nebula using the classical SHO palette, with the difference that I played with the "selective color" function in Photoshop, with the aim to show the color nuances of the nebula.

I hope that you will enjoy my personal interpreation of this wonderful deepsky object.
