Description

As you can see from the dates (1 year in the making), this target drove me almost into the processing madness chamber, tried it many many times to get a reasonable result. Now with processing time dominating due to miserable weather conditions, I dared to try it again. Certainly not the way I wanted it to look like, but in order to make it better I would need many more data (I would be on it right now if the clouds wouldn't be in the way ...). Especially by learning from @LittleGhost that those very short exposures need way more single raw images than the 5 minutes ones in order to eliminate high noise levels. Looked at other colleagues here on Astrobin who dared this one as well (yes, I do compare 😊), and I can see that the struggles with the Cat's Eye are general, this is a tough one. A focal length of 925mm does not necessarily help either. And the guiding at that time was not the best on top. But hey ... always something to look forward to for more raws and higher FLs 😊😊. Otherwise, I would run one day out of targets 😊😊.
