The last week was somewhat exceptional with almost a full week of clear nights. It allowed my mobile setup to remain outside for days on end. I was able to gather a total of 19h of exposure on NGC7380, also known as the Wizard Nebula.
The image is processed in the SHO colour palette, also known as the Hubble palette.
A big thanks to Benjamin Csizi for sharing his noise reduction process using MultiscalMedianTransform (
https://www.astrobin.com/cw8kmh/C/#c590422). For processing the Wizard Nebula, I followed his suggestions, which worked quite well. It creates a pretty clean effect without too many artefacts.
Another tip that was applied here comes from Stephen and his YT-channel 'Entering into Space' (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-YhqGjooxI). After processing the color image, some serious convolution is applied. The Ha is fully processed as the luminance, with full deconvolution, denoising, etc. and then applied back to the color image, giving the sharpness back again.
There are so many approaches to processing these images....
