This is my second attempt at imaging the blue reflection nebulae NGC 6726 and NGC 6727, and it's neighbour the magnificent Globular Cluster NGC 6723.
This image, which includes the northern boundary of the constellation Corona Australis, or the Southern Crown, shows the bluish reflection nebulae NGC 6726 and NGC 6727 near the centre, with huge dust clouds spanning a rich field of stars.
The small yellowish, fan-shaped reflection nebula NGC 6729, also known as Caldwell 68, surrounds and extends out from the young variable star RCa, toward its companion TCa. Above it are arcs and loops identified as Herbig Haro (HH) objects, typically associated with energetic newborn stars.
Toward the upper centre lies the bluish reflection nebula IC 4812.
I was very pleased to capture details of the boomerang-shaped dusty dark nebula known as Be157, or the Corona Australis Molecular Cloud, which was evident in my
first image because it obscured the more distant background stars, although the nebula itself was not visible.
