Description

NGC 7635, the Bubble Nebula. This nebula is around 7,000 light years away in Cassiopeia. There is a large, young star near the middle that clocks in around 45 times as massive as the sun. The star's stellar wind heats oxygen (blue) which runs into the larger, colder clouds of hydrogren (gold) and sulfur (reddish brown), forming the 'bubble' shell around the star. The bubble itself is around 7 light years across and continuing to expand. The star is too large to live very long and will eventually go supernova.
