Description

In amongst all this cloud, I finally got about an hour on the Bubble nebula a couple of days ago before the clouds rolled in again. The Bubble is a very familiar object these days but I wanted to see what my new camera could do with a brightish target.

The 'Bubble' is the result of a Wolf-Rayet star's high mass-loss activity and it's thought that WR stars represent the stage a star passes through immediately prior to going supernova - so watch the bubble!

In fact I actually only got about 50 minutes of data as I've become

rather more particular about only using perfect subs since I got the

new camera. I'm not entirely satisfied with this shot, it probably

does need a bit more time on it.

It's here:

Imaged through the 10" f4.8 Newt and the SX H9C ccd camera. About 50 minutes exposure, processed in AstroArt and NEAT.
