Description

This is the ring nebula or M 57 also NGC 6720. It is in the constellation Lyra and is 2283 light years distant and is 1.3 light years wide. This planetary nebula is the material that is being puffed out from its central dying star. It is about 7000 years old and expanding at 1.5 million kilometers per day. I used my refactor on this so the spikes on the stars were added in Adobe Photo shop with an add on called Star Spikes pro. The colors however are the ones that came out of the ccd. Yea the spikes are kinda cheesy but it makes the pretty picture pop. Lol
