Description

This unique deep sky object is a "polar ring" galaxy, resulting from the collision of two galaxies over 1 billion years ago. The brighter, host galaxy is a type SB(s) Peculiar galaxy. The polar ring is inclined at a 45 degree angle from the host galaxy. This object lies 45 million light years from Earth in the constellation of Pisces.  In the sky, NGC-660 is located very near the galaxy M-74.
