Description

On the face of it, this image seems rather soft, although I think the focus was reasonable - with finger tip control and a home-made Bahtinov grating. I expect this is more to do with the severe under sampling (61"/px) from my DSI 2C OSC/28mm lens combo.

Nevertheless is serves to show the rich emission nebulae that dominate this region of the sky amidst the milky way backdrop. I took this at the same time as imaging IC 1050, the pelican nebula, through my SCT - just visible at the bottom of the frame.

Images were captured in Envisage, which supports multiple DSI cameras, aligned in Nebulosity and then processed in Startools. Quite a lot of healing was made to the stars to reduce and tighten these, although they still look quite blocky. I've imaged this region previously with my DSI3 pro / camera lens in Ha, so must consider adding some colour frames.
