Description

C 2118 (also known as Witch Head Nebula due to its shape) is an extremely faint reflection nebula believed to be an ancient supernova remnant or gas cloud illuminated by nearby supergiant star Rigel in the constellation of Orion. (Wikipedia).  This very feint target would normally need a long integration time to get any detail.  However just 54 mins  shows the photon collecting power of the f/2 RASA8, which pulls in around 9 times the light of an F6 400mm FL refractor which would need around 8 hours to collect the same amount of light.
