Description

The Crab Nebula - M1

This shot of the Crab Nebula was shot Monday, February 8, 2021 - 6:30-9PM. This shot was the combination of 30 frames at 120s each shot on my Olympus OM-D EM1x at ISO 800. This is a supernova remnant that was first identified in 1791 by Jon Bevis and also discovered separately by Charles Messier (for whom the "Messier Catalog" is named - and this is the 1st entry in that catalog - M1. This supernova remnant has a pulsar at the center. For more information on the nebula please see the following link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crab_Nebula

This shot was made on the #westportastronomicalsociety's 14" Celestron EdgeHD with my Olympus EM1x attached via a T-ring with an Optolong L-Pro light pollution filter attached.
