First light with mono camera and narrowband filters using N.I.N.A for acquisition. Electronic autofocus backlash calibration took a long time until I realised there appears to be minimum backlash in my ZWO EAF. Chosen settings - backlash absolute 5 IN, 5 OUT. Getting used to gain settings now since the transition from DSLR. Nice to be able to image on bright moonlit nights to make the most of available clear skies. Adding targets to a spreadsheet to avoid missing those which suit my field of view. This is my first attempt at an SHO image but it was fun working some of it out with much reference to online videos. Still struggling with the correct workflow to incorporate the use of Starnet++ but will get there eventually. Some stars in this image have been filled after the normal types of processing. More data acquired on this target but waiting to produce some sets of calibration frames before continuing with more post processing.

Title: New data and processing

Description: I have used the original 2.5 hours of data and added more for a total of 9 hours. The latest version has been produced using recently learned PixInsight techniques and blending of the starless and star images as layers in Photoshop using soft light and lighter colour blend modes. The remnants of obtrusive diffraction spikes were removed using content aware fill, blur and smudge so there is no pretence at being a true representation but I feel it is a pleasing image.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
