Description

Pickering's Triangle is part of an intricate nebular system known as the Veil Nebula in the constellation Cygnus.
Result of a Supernova explosion that occurred a few millennia ago. The nebular filaments of which it is made are still expanding and within a few thousand years they will disappear completely.
It was discovered via photograph by Williamina Fleming in 1904, but the credit went to the director of the observatory, Edward Charles Pickering.
