Description

A classic DSO, Messier 57 (also catalogued as NGC 6720 and informally known as the Ring Nebula) is a planetary nebula in the constellation of Lyra.  I wanted to see if I could capture some of its outer shell, which I did for the first time.  Despite the annoyance of constant high thin clouds, the C11 worked like a champ once again to grab enough of this simple-looking but beautiful object to produce some clarity of its core and rings.  However, it does lack the sharpness I was hoping to obtain.  The barred spiral galaxy, IC1296 was also captured.
