Description

This imaging session was performed on 11/19/21 and I used my Canon Ra camera and Rokinon 135 f/2 lens. I polar aligned but did not guide. My mission was that I wanted to get the Pleiades in the field of view. The moon was taken at ISO 200 for ½ seconds for each of the 30 images acquired. The moon images were then stacked via Registax and then tweaked with the Camera RAW filter in Photoshop. I shot some longer exposures to bring out the stars to create this composite image. Some faint nebulosity around the Pleiades was also brought out. The image was cropped about 25%. Star crosses were added to the seven main stars of the Pleiades to give a pleasing effect. My visual perception of this event reminded me of this image except that the moon appeared much darker to the unaided eye. However, the Pleiades shone very brightly in totality around 3:04 am CST on 11/19/21 when these images were taken. The image session was done on my back porch in Illinois. I did use a clip-in light pollution filter on my Canon Ra.
