Description

The image captures 2 obscure objects located in the constellation of Cepheus at a declination of +62 degrees, near the Cave Nebula.

The Cepheus A star region, located about 2000 light years away, is seen in the upper right of the image. This region includes a number of Herbig-Haro objects, high velocity collimated bi-polar jets associated with new star formation. The primary HH object here is HH168, seen as the reddish nebula. Just above is a small dark area, reminiscent of the Keyhole Nebula, which is likely a Bok globule.

The bright reflection nebula GN 22.55.2 is seen in the lower left of the image.
