Description

North is up in this image.  Upper left galaxy is NGC 5371, a  weakly barred spiral with ring and spiral arm features. The compact galaxy group Hickson 68 is to the right. The Hickson group contains NGC 5353, 5354, 5350, 5355, and 5358. NGC 5350 is a strongly barred spiral with ring. A small spiral, UGC 8841 is in the lower part of the image. All of these galaxies are in the same distance range 115 to 126 million light years by redshift estimate. There are several quasars in this image with high redshifts (up to 2.585 with lookback time of 11 billion light years).   These objects, information, and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated image. Horizontal FOV is approximately 39 arc minutes. Full size image scale is approximately 0.56 arcsec/pix..
