Description

SH2-101 from the Stewart Sharpless Catalog is a predominantly Hydrogen Alpha region in Cygnus and is approximately 6000 light-years away from Earth and about 70 light-years across the Tulip section. It is also called the Tulip Nebula since the center resembles a tulip. HDE 227018 is the bright star near the center of the nebula.
