Description

Rosette Nebula in constellation Monoceros sits like a rose with shimmering jewels inside its star forming heart. The clouds of dust are a combination of Hydrogen Alpha, Oxygen III and Sulphur II emissions. The reddish are Sulphur II emissions. Greenish and aqua are combination of Hydrogen Alpha & Oxygen III. Approximately 5200 light years away. Still actively producing stars, the mass of the nebula is estimated to be 10,000 times the mass of the Sun.
