Description

A little known spiral galaxy in Hercules. Can't find out too much about it but I was attracted by it's rather interesting Barred structure.

It's pretty faint, mag. 13.7, small at 3.6' x1.5' in size and has an apparent surface brightness of only 15.3 mags per square arcmin, so not many will be seeing through the eyepiece.

The bright blue region E of the main galaxy suggests a recent interaction and some intense star forming is going on.

This image recorded on a rather nice night in May consists of 30 x 2min exposures sigma combined.
