Description

NGC 3199 at 12k ly is a glowing cosmic cloud in the southern constellation of Carina. There is a ring shape with a much brighter edge at the top. Near the center of the ring is a Wolf-Rayet star, a massive, hot, short-lived star that generates an intense stellar wind. This was captured over several nights due to fog and heavy cloud interruptions during sessions. Tough object to process given the density of the star field and less than ideal atmospheric conditions.
