Description

NGC7023, also known as the Iris Nebula, is a bright reflection nebula in the constellation of Cepheus. The nebula is illuminated by a single star and is 1300 light years from Earth. Surrounding the nebula and open cluster there is quite a bit of interstellar dust which blocks the light from some background stars.

Capturing broadband targets from within the city remains quite hard. This object could use more time, and I had to use a few PixInsight tricks to tame the noise and try and extract the dust clouds. Overall I'm happy with it but the next target that contains dark dusty stuff is happening from better skies.
