Description

This face-on magnitude 12.3 spiral is located 70 million light years away in the constellation of Camelopardalis at a declination of +78 degrees.

This is a unique object.  It has the most distinct spiral structure of any small galaxy I have seen.  The galaxy spans 1 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  At the distance of 70 million light years, this corresponds to a diameter of only 20,000 light years.  I find this hard to believe, to the point that I question the distance estimate.  The combination of color and structure for this galaxy lead me to believe that this is a larger galaxy at a further distance away.
