Description

The Jellyfish nebula was a more difficult processing experience than my recent Cone nebula. The SNR itself is very bright and clear, but more integration time probably would have improved the surrounding gas and more faint background regions. I tested quite a number of false color patterns, ultimately settling on using the Foraxx palette as a base for my primary image upload. Foraxx essentially produced a solid orange scene, so I used some additional masking to try to bring out more of the subtlety as best as I could. I am uploading versions based on SHO and HOO too (each with some selective re-coloring to improve contrast); each has some interesting elements, but I found myself liking the Foraxx one the most out of all the ones I created.
