Description

The Rosette Nebula is an emission nebula nearly 5,000 light years away from Earth. The ionized hydrogen gas is excited by starlight and shines in bright red. It’s mass is estimated at about 10,000 times that of the sun.

The structure you’re looking at is roughly 130 light years in diameter.
